Tanzania in East-Africa is situated just south of the Equator, covers 938'000 sqkms, population approximately 34 million. Capital is Dodoma, Dar-es-Salaam is the business centre. Language of the country is Swahili, English is spoken partly.

The currency is Tanzania-Shilling. Bring in foreign currencies (USD, CHF, Euro), mainly US-Dollar either Cash (only the new issue of bills is accepted) or Cheques (such as American Express, bring the receipt of purchase with you to declare). Change is available in Banks an Bureaux de Change. Credit cards are not widely accepted.

Travel to Tanzania

There are two international airports in Tanzania:

- Dar-es-Salaam International Airport

- Kilimanjaro International Airport, near Arusha

Tanzania can be combined with Kenya easily. From Nairobi (Kenya) are daily two flights on Precisionair to Kilimanjaro International Airport and from Mombasa (Kenya) daily. Between Nairobi and Arusha are shuttle services daily available such as Scandinavian Express (1st class for reasonable price) or River Side.
